Effective: Upon first use of the Drift application
1. Introduction
Eric Thomas Tech Solutions LLC d/b/a Seaway Technologies ("Seaway Technologies," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Drift mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Drift, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Drift is intended for use by residents of the United States only. If you are located outside the United States, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account or use the App, you may provide:
If you register using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive basic profile information from those providers — typically your name and email address — in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We do not receive your Google or Apple passwords.
2.2 Subscription and Billing Information
Drift subscriptions are processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment card information. Subscription status and entitlement data is managed through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, which receives a unique user identifier and subscription state information. We do not receive your full payment details from Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.
2.3 Location Data
With your permission, the App collects your device's GPS location data solely to identify businesses near you and display their location on the in-app map. Location data is used in real time to power this feature and is not stored on our servers beyond what is necessary to serve your current session. You may deny or revoke location permissions through your device settings at any time, though doing so will limit the App's ability to show nearby businesses.
2.4 Push Notification Tokens
If you enable push notifications, we collect a device-level push notification token provided by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM). This token is used solely to deliver push notifications to your device, such as new business announcements or deal updates. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
2.5 Passcard Redemption Data
When you redeem a Passcard offer through the App, we log the following information on our servers:
This data is used to enforce redemption rules, prevent fraudulent use, and maintain the integrity of the Drift platform.
2.6 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Certain App data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. This includes:
Because this data is stored on your device, it is not backed up to the cloud. If you clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or switch to a new device, your favorites and notification preferences will not be retained. We may change this in the future and will provide notice in accordance with Section 9 if we do.
2.7 Automatically Collected Information
We use Firebase, a platform provided by Google, to power core App functionality including user authentication, data storage, and push notifications. Firebase may collect certain technical information as part of its standard operation, including device type, operating system version, and App crash reports. This information is used for platform stability and security purposes. We do not use Firebase Analytics or any other behavioral analytics service to track your in-app activity.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 Service Providers
We share your information with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the App. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information solely for the purpose of providing services to us and may not use it for their own purposes. Our current service providers include:
We may engage additional service providers in the future. We will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice in accordance with Section 9 if we do so in a way that materially affects your privacy.
4.2 Participating Businesses
Drift does not share your personal information — including your name, email address, or account details — with participating businesses. Businesses can see that Passcards have been redeemed but do not receive identifying information about individual subscribers through the App.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend the rights or property of Seaway Technologies, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App, or protect the personal safety of users or the public.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice via email and/or in-app notification before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services.
If you delete your account, we will remove your personal account information — including your name, email address, and phone number — from our active systems. However, we may retain certain records, including Passcard redemption history, for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and platform integrity purposes even after account deletion.
We do not currently apply a fixed retention period to redemption logs. We will revisit this as the platform matures and will update this policy accordingly.
6. Your Choices and Rights
6.1 Account Information
You may update your account information at any time through the App. If you wish to delete your account, please contact us at support@driftpass.app and we will process your request promptly.
6.2 Location Data
You may enable or disable location access at any time through your device's settings. Disabling location access will limit the App's ability to show businesses near you but will not affect your ability to browse the full business directory.
6.3 Push Notifications
You may enable or disable push notifications through your device settings at any time. Disabling notifications will not affect your subscription or access to the App.
6.4 Data Access and Deletion Requests
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, or to request that we delete your personal information. To submit a request, please contact us at support@driftpass.app with the subject line "Data Request" or "Deletion Request." We will respond within 30 days. Please note that certain data, such as redemption logs retained for fraud prevention, may not be fully deletable in all circumstances.
7. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) regarding your personal information.
You have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, the purposes for which it is used, and whether it is shared with third parties. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. Seaway Technologies does not sell personal information, so no opt-out mechanism is required, but we will never do so without first updating this policy and providing you with an opt-out right.
To exercise your California privacy rights, please contact us at support@driftpass.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
8. Children's Privacy
Drift is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us immediately at support@driftpass.app and we will take steps to delete such information.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. By allowing a minor to use Drift, a parent or guardian agrees to this Privacy Policy on the minor's behalf.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share your personal information, we will provide at least 14 days' advance notice via:
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
10. Data Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure authentication through Firebase Auth, encrypted data transmission, and access controls that limit who can access your information within our systems.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights or interests, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may display information about or links to third-party businesses. Seaway Technologies is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party businesses listed on the platform. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any businesses you interact with directly.
Our use of third-party service providers (Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google) is subject to their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies for information about their data practices.
